Start learning 4-way or hone your skills with Spaceland Lite in this intensive 2-on-2 Tunnel Camp at iFly Austin!

Spaceland Lite did all of its 4-way tunnel training in this size tunnel (14 feet) in preparation for winning the gold medals in the Advanced Class at the 2011 USPA Nationals. This is one of the few wind tunnels in the world that is large enough to train all of the 4-way blocks and randoms in the IPC/USPA dive pool. iFly Austin is Skyventure’s flagship facility featuring recirculating air flow, air conditioning, high-definition video and is one of only two wind tunnels in Texas.

Camp Plan: The goal for this camp is for each person to have the opportunity to work on improving their individual flying skills and then be able to directly apply what they have learned to 4-way formation flying. We will accomplish this by mixing some skill and individual drills (fall rate, grips, movement, turns, etc.) with 2 on 2 flying. Most of the camp will be structured in a 2 on 2 format, where two flyers will be in the tunnel with two Spaceland Lite coaches. In this format, each flyer will have a Spaceland Lite coach as their mirror and piece partner, so they will always have a positive reference for both positioning and the feel of their piece moves. This proven format significantly accelerates the learning curve for everyone involved. Our unique Spaceland Lite training syllabus encompasses multiple curricula for different levels of skill and experience of the participants allowing us to accommodate the whole range from new jumpers to very experienced 4-way team members. Each participant will fly for over 1.5 hours in the tunnel.

  • “THANK YOU! I can’t say it enough! I felt I made huge improvements from Day 1 to Day 3. The minute I hear when the next camp is, the check is in the mail.” —Chad Christian
  • “We learned so much as a team… and individual fine tuning.” —Demo McDonnell
  • “You guys do a really good job of teaching us the right amount of information and layering on additional technique as individuals are ready for it. I never felt overwhelmed and did consistently feel challenged, pushed, and able to find something new to focus on improving. You all are extremely patient and always having a good time. I thought the positive vibes at this camp were totally infectious.” —Merry Regan
